Which Type of Installation is Right for You?

At
Remy Capillus, our extensions offer the potential for endless styles and colors
so that you can express yourself. We also offer three different installation
methods so that you have full control over how long you wear your Remy extensions.
Micro-Weft
Micro-weft installation requires no glue or heat to instantly get long,
beautiful locks. These types of extensions use hair that is attached to a weft,
or seam. Similar to the popular micro-ring method but less labor-intensive, the
micro-weft method secures strands of the wearer’s own hair to the extensions
through rings spaced at intervals. The rings, wearer’s hair and extension hair
are gently clamped together, forming a secure bond that blends in seamlessly for
a natural look.
Micro-weft extensions are perfect for women who want long-lasting locks and are
committed to properly caring for their extensions. With a regular level of care
and occasional repositioning of the rings, these extensions can last up to 6
months. In the case of our RC Pure line, we guarantee that they will be just as
lustrous and durable as the day you bought them for at least 12 months.
Tape-In
Not committed to a year of weave wear? No problem. Micro-weft isn’t the only
option that we offer. Tape-in extensions are another popular installation
method that still leave you with natural-looking extensions that are
undetectable whether you wear your hair up or down, short or long.
This method works more or less exactly how its name suggests: much like
micro-weft extensions, the hair is attached to a seam that conforms to the
curve of your scalp. Instead of being clipped in, the hair is taped using a
highly adhesive, double-sided tape (don’t worry, it’s nothing like getting tape
caught in your hair in elementary school). The tape extensions are then secured
to your natural hair, allowing the extensions to lay flat and blend in
seamlessly with the rest of your tresses.
Tape-in extensions are durable and hardy, but won’t last as long as micro-weft,
and don’t take professional help to remove. Instead, oil remover is used to
gently work out the tape and remove the extensions. After removal, you can
re-install the extensions as long as they’ve been cared for properly.
Clip-In
Clip-in extensions are perfect for temporary transformations. Instead of using
weft or tape, extensions are secured to natural hair with small teeth that
resemble tiny jaw clips. The wearer’s hair is clipped in between the teeth of
each clip. Since these extensions are so easy to install, they’re great for
wearers who only want to change up their look for a day or two. They’re also
less comfortable than tape-ins or wefts, and need to be reattached every day.
