Wefts or Clip-In Hair Extensions?
Posted on November 25 2015
Real hair extension technology grows more advanced every
year, with new methods of installation as well as higher-quality versions of
wefts and clip-ins readily available to consumers everywhere. Hot fusion and
cold fusion methods, where extension hair is bonded strand-by-strand with
natural hair using a specialized “ultrasonic wave,” can produce beautiful
results but is extremely difficult, as well as time-consuming and expensive, to
complete. Limited numbers of salons possess the skill set and tools to install
these types of extensions.
Remy Capilluscontinues
to carry the highest-quality wefted and clip-in hair extensions (available
wholesale), due primarily to the continued widespread demand for these types of
real hair extensions and the ease with which our clients can find a salon staffed
by stylists familiar with their handling. What we’ve discovered, however, is
that many women could benefit from switching up their hair extension from
wefted to clip-in, saving them time and money depending on their look and
desired duration of their extensions. Looking to try out a different type?
Order your Remy Capillus wefted real hair extensions directly from us, or

your area.
Clip-Ins
To start, there is a massive difference between high- and
low-quality clip-in hair extensions. Do the teeth of the comb over-shoot the
clip significantly? If so, this is likely to cause discomfort, especially after
long wear. Are the wefts layered closely to one another, preventing gaps? Is
there a significantly thick length of hair on each track? Is each clip painted
or otherwise sealed, in order to prevent damage from raw metal?
If so, congratulations – you’ve found a high-quality clip-in
hair extension! Clip-ins are essentially wefted hair extensions made easier to
install and remove, and are not designed for long-term wear. This can be a great
option if you want to get multiple uses out of a set of extensions, but not
wear that style for a long time. If you’ve been using low-quality wefted hair
for years, you may have resorted to clip-ins to avoid constantly re-installing
wefts that quickly tangle and then must be painstakingly removed. However,
clip-in hair extensions must be taken out each night and installed each
morning, making them impractical for daily use.
Remy Capillus clip-ins come in a variety of different styles
and lengths, and are perfect for temporarily switching hairstyles while
maintaining a smooth, high-quality look. Salons interested in purchasing our
high-end wholesale clip-ins to provide to customers looking for a short-term
style change can inquire with a customer sales rep by calling 855-676-HAIR.
Wefts
Wefts, as semi-permanent hair solutions, can be either sewn,
micro-ringed, glued or taped into natural hair with the aim of caring for them
until they require replacement. When determining the quality of a weft, you
should take several factors into consideration. How thick is the swatch of hair
attached to the weft? Is the weft itself (where the hair is sewn together, at
the top) high-quality? If not, the extensions may shed or tangle more easily.
The benefits of using wefted hair include faster application
time, longer wearability, and relative affordability when compared to
strand-by-strand application. Again, clients who are accustomed to low-end
wefted “Remy” hair often complain that the price is not worth the quality,
which must be re-installed frequently due to tangling, breakage and overall
degradation of appearance over a short period of time.
Our REAL Remy hair extensions are carefully treated and
packaged, with special attention paid to ensuring that hair cuticles remain
aligned throughout the process, helping prevent tangling and maintain
smoothness. Products from our Luxury Collection come with an industry-first and
ONLY one-year warranty, meaning that our clients will get much longer wear from
their real hair extensions, along with significantly greater quality throughout
the experience.
